The soul is the ‘driver’ in the body. It is the roohu or spirit or atma, the presence of which makes the physical body alive. Many religious and philosophical traditions support the view that the soul is the ethereal substance – a spirit; a non-material spark – particular to a unique living being. – per Google Definition. Pahari is Hindi for the hill. Pahari Soul is a quaint place in the Queen of the Hills, Darjeeling, owned by a respected, wonderful, and helpful person.
I am sitting on my bed now, looking at my window. I can see the whole city and the mighty Kanchenjunga. Generally a traveler has rolling feet, but few windows can stop the movement for sometime, and one of them is my window in this ‘Pahari Soul’ property.
While coming here, we had a conversation with an IIM (Indian Institute of Management, world’s one of the topmost business schools) professor to understand whether we are on the right track, in giving back to the society. I found a profound similarity between the twisted roads and the purpose on which we are working on. Roads and life events are unpredictable, all we need a basic framework to support any changes. COVID-19 changed the world. While walking down the roads, it’s a completely different experience. The roads are clean, very less people, very few shops are open, so less business and less livelihood.
